Adopt-A-Highway is a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) program designed to help keep the state's highway roadsides clean and attractive. Participants adopt both sides of a section of state highway roadside to clean up over a two-year period.
The Adopt-a-Highway program provides an opportunity for you or your family, business or civic group to clean up litter. We will recognize your efforts by erecting a sign with your group's name after two pickups have occurred and been documented.
Who can Adopt-A-Highway? Any group organized for some special purpose or task can be a sponsor, except partisan or political groups. Each group must provide one adult supervisor for every five or six volunteers.
