Workers, peasants and soldiers (工农兵, gong, nong, bing) are considered to be the pillars of the new Chinese society. During the Cultural Revolution they are portrayed as the rulers of the country. In reality, of course, they are just the people, ruled by the Party.

In this sense the workers and conscious peasants must seek to have advanced socialist parliamentary action: to conduct work of revolutionary education amongst the great masses, to unify the feelings and aspirations of the great masses in understanding the communist programme, to distribute incessantly the conviction that the current problems of the industrial and agricultural economy can be solved only outside parliament, against parliament, by the workers’ state.

Peasants, Serfs, Soldiers Serfs, as it usually happened in a feudal system, could be conscripted and sent off to war by their lords. In fact, a male serf could be sent into the imperial army as punishment for “insubordination,” and the parameters for this charge were established by the individual serf lords.

The lifestyle of a medieval peasant in Medieval England was extremely hard and harsh. Many worked as farmers in fields owned by the lords and their lives were controlled by the farming year. Certain jobs had to be done at certain times of the year. Their lives were harsh but there were few rebellions due to a harsh system of law and order.

A peasant is a pre-industrial agricultural laborer or farmer with limited land ownership, especially one living in the Middle Ages under feudalism and paying rent, tax, fees, or services to a landlord. In Europe, peasants were divided into three classes according to their personal status: slave, serf, and free tenant.
